The infamous Lions Den Hotel was established in 1875 and is still going strong today. The name was taken from a nearby tin mine and the miners would record their pay packets and expenditure on the walls of the hotel. The walls are adorned with signatures that stem from the early mining days and this has now become a tradition for visitors from all over the world.
